i think it is suspected that they use them for satellite calibration. purdy sure i saw an article on it a few weeks back.

Well what we clearly have here is a Where's Waldo Theme Park in the making . With the stratigic placing of irrigated corn next year the maze's will be amazing .

One of the crazy things about these lines is how straight they look on a curved surface such as hills, etc.  There are other places in China like this.  I know some people think they are calibration lines for sattelites.  I'm no sattelite expert but I have never heard of other countries using them for calibration.

Somebody broke the satellite camera lens, patched her up with athletic tape, and shut up about it. Like my brothers used to do with their gomer glasses in the 70s.

You can see the soils or sand drifting/flowing back over the white in some areas. Odd indeed if it's real.
