Photo Description:

Since everyone seems to have Deer on the brain, I thought I would mix it up a little.  The Sheyenne is back down a bit and I decided to go muddin' and check the fishing out.  I caught just about every game fish except muzshkkies, white bass, and largemouth bass.  Several firsts on this trip for this year.  First, the crappies and then the catfish.  What a tussle Mr. Wiskers was on 8 pound line with a stiff current.  Fun, Fun, Fun.  Good sized gills and perch too.  The walleyes weren't much to write about, but what they lacked in size, they made up for in aggression.  Deep hook sets earned them an invitation to my next fish fry.  The exceptionally small northerns are for the pickle jar.  I couldn't turn that down.  All in all, it was a great day on the river.

Awesome... That river is an awesome resource... When it's not making you miserable.
Kind of like mom/dad when we were teenagers.

Thanks guys!  I went down there again today to see if the gills and crappies were still around.  I found 4 more nice gills and a few perch.  The walleyes were small (10 inches or less), but the smallmouth were in town big time.  I had to keep two 14 inch smallies due to deep hooksets, but I must have release 10 or so from 8 to 17 inches or so.  No kitties today, but the bullheads were on their usual rampage.  Damn I like that river!!!!!!!!!
