MathewsZman Joined: 08/02/2010 Location: SD	The all-tackle world record redear sunfish was caught by Amos M. Gayfrom in 1998. The massive panfish was caught in the Santee Cooper Diversional Canal, South Carolina USA, and weighed 5 pounds, 7.5 ounces.

I can just picture this guy introducing himself with an South Carolina accent "Hi, I'm Amos Gay", to which most people would respond "how are you almost gay?"!

bullheadmaster Joined: 11/29/2002 Location: ND	This fish are some awesome creatures. That is a good question as to, how old these fish are. I know around here it is estimated that for each ench a bluegill grows that is one year. So for example to slow people like Jig-em, an 8 inch bluegill would be 8 years old. This is just a simple rule of thumb I've read about. Maybe the fish are about 20 years old... Big J
