I think this may be money well spent. A large percentage of our population enjoy the outdoors and I see it wise to give back.

I definitely like the idea of it, as long as it operates effectively I'm all for it. The impact from oil on ND's wildlife has been substantial in my opinion. It'll be interesting to hear more details.

Interesting proposition. As with anything else though, there are some drawbacks.

1. The thing is slated to receive a percentage of the oil money, that will forever be a moving value and makes budgeting projects a difficult thing to do.

2. The vast majority of the oil money already has a lot of grubby hands reaching for it. Property tax relief, income tax relief, education, etc, etc. Some tough opponents for sure.

3. What kind of guidelines would this panel be given in order to choose projects? And how would a person differentiate between funding some of those projects under this funding source than other, let's say standard NDGF funding? Sounds like a lot of overlap there.

I like the idea also however a concern of mine is since this is oil money is there a certain allocation that must be used in oil producing counties or will this prolly go the same direction as the legacy fund?

I dont go around guessing cup sizes either I just know a nice rack when I see one.

I would like to see a set amount of it used to rebuild, reclaim, and restock wildlife or habitat that is or will be damaged by the oil activity.

Why isn't the oil companies paying for rebuilding and reclaiming wildlife habitat? We have to do that at the coal mine.

It only seems right that Oil money helps to maintain wildlife and habitat. The animals at least get to eat some of the crops that have replaced their old habitat. Oil could give back a little.

My thoughts as well. As is my feeling with a lot of this oil money. A lot of hands sticking out for all this coin, and that's fine, but things are getting tore up out west here and I think at least maintaining roads out here should be a priority before the money gets thrown in a pot for grabs.

I'd like to see the whole list of things they want to spend it on.  I wonder if one of them is game wardens since we often comment there aren't enough of them.  And what else got left out & is it restricted to what they listed.

against legacy fund --- no govt should have a savings account.  Not that i am in favor of overspending.

Second --- all we here is infastructure --- that is where it needs to be spent.

Where is all the left over oil money and sales tax money going?   That is the big question.

I agree 100% with the statement that the oil companies should have to clean up after themselves.

Last --- pump baby pump --- i would like to see iran choke in its own oil

Stay thirsty my friends
