What powder for 130 grn ttsx to use.  Have a buddy that wants to use them and decides to have me figure out a load a week before the season.

"I'd consider a 95."

That would be a freakn' zinger.  Wouldn't a 95 copper be about the same length as a cup & core?

Sure it would!  But wouldn't you rather have a shark with a freakn' lazer on it's head?

R-19 or  Ramshot Hunter would be my 1st choices.

This moment is a paradox, it's the oldest you've ever been as well as the youngest you'll ever be.

Have done quite a bit of testing with this caliber, and bullet out of a Tikka, and have found H4831SC to give me the best groups.

I personally shoot those bullets out of my 270 wsm and I use 130 gr. Barnes TTSX. I load 49 gr. of Varget and my FPS is just a hair under 3000. I just got back from a Mule Deer hut in Wyoming and I dropped my buck dead in his tracks at 467 yards with that load. GREAT BULLETS! DO NOT go with 95 gr. bullets. 130's are just fine

TTSX and TSX forte is speed.  Using this logic a 95 (they don't show a 95 on their website but they show a 110) would be your friend.  I think the hardest thing for people to get over is the fact that you don't need the same grain bullet in the TTSX and TSX as you do in a standard cup/core.  They virtually retain 100% of their weight so there is no need to compensate for "shed grains" (for lack of a better term.)

The only reason to go with a heavier bullet would be for BC or for some reason the lightest one is a flat based instead of a boat tail.  (like it is in the 110 30 cal)  To be honest most won't notice the difference anyway so it really doesn't matter.

All in all I'd use the smallest grain bullet available in the TTSX that is still a BT.  Push it hard and reap the rewards.....

Why would you not use the 95? It should shoot 500 fps faster than the 130.

I have never went below 110 gr. I like the way the 130 gr shoot and I have an excellent group inside an inch at 100 yards so why change something that is not broken?

I have a few TSX loads that just flat out shoot, I too have no desire to change them.  However if you are just working up a load you may as well start with the lightest one possible.  I'm going to venture to guess they will also shoot well for you.
