24v trolling motor hook-up

Ok, like an idiot I failed to mark my connections when I unhooked the trolling motor batteries last fall.

I think this is how it goes...

Hook the negative motor wire to the negative post of battery one.
Hook a connecting wire from positive battery one to negative of battery two.
Hook positive motor wire to positive post of battery two.

since I have two new batteries I really don't want to F-it up.

what about running two batteries for your 12 volt how would you hook that up??

pos to pos, neg to neg.  positive from troller wire to pos #1, neg troller wire to neg #1

before you hook your battery up in series make sure they don't have the jumper installed in the plug.
