788 remington  one of the most accurate factory rifles made. No feeding problems with the stack clip  and one of the fastest lock time  put in a timney trigger  and enjoy.  There will be people say you need a 5 or more capicity gun it only takes one shot.  buy the 788 and put 400.00 glass on it and enjoy you would have in the range of 800 total

Howa would be an excellent first or second choice If it is just to look at then Kimber or weatherby mark V  but I don't know they are for 788 accuracy

The best democrat platform a Republican can stand on it a manure pile

I would either go with the Ruger or a Remington SPS.

Buddy has the SPS and it shot under a half inch with hand loads and a bedding job.

I have a Ruger in 25-06 and with some work it shoots unreal......

the howa package just a little bit over $550 with the nikko stirling scope, by far the best scope if you get your balistics chart with the hornady superformance 40 gr shells that gun is deady to 600

Depends on what you want to do with it coyotes, prairie dogs, deer?  You have a choice of 1:14, 1:12, and 1:9 twists in factory rifles.  You willing to put a better quality stock on it or keep it as is.  All depends on the accesories you want.  Ex. two stage trigger, free floated barrel(weatherby vanguard is pressure bedded) pillared stock.

Best advice is get the one that fits you the best.  I have owned alot of factory and custom rifles.  Only hobby I have so I spend alot on it.  They all shoot some are just harder to get to shoot than others.  Some won't stabilze the bullet you want them to.  Figure out what you want to do with it and go from there.

I have a Ruger M77 mark 1 that is amazingly accurate.  It has a 1:14 twist.  I have shot handloads up to 60gr. with no problems. There are many rifles on the market today that shoot pretty good and you could improve there accuracy over time.

I just bought a Savage varmit series 22-250 with the new accu-trigger and a heavy fluted stainless steel barrel and the gun shoots perfect right out of the box.  I would not over look Savage and this is from a guy who has never owned a rifle other than a remington

Just bought a Rem 700 SPS Varmint in .243. 26" heavy barrel, will probably replace the stock right away cause I hate the wide foreend they come with. Right around $600. Thinkin I should be able to get it to shoot well.
