Just curious, but why is the third rack from the right so white? Looks like it's bleached out.

antler color depends partly on the amount of oxidized blood left over from velvet shedding and partly on a chemical reaction between the blood and sap from plants on which the antlers are rubbed.

There's a big guy in my hunting area that is pretty much all white like that too.

Deer was shot during archery. Was not recovered until days later. Velvet was rotting and stripped clean. It was actually posted in gallery earlier this year.

I thought all the deer died last year in the terrible winter we had... obviously not...

Nah, too much quality private land.

I can tell ya that the number of deer antlers presented was at least two and a half times less.  I'd venture to say three times as less.
