Photo Description:
Picked up my mount the other day and hung it up in my my office at home. Looks great and the taxidermist did a great job with the split ear. I loved the cape on this guy with the dark face and darker hide!
Sorry about the cell phone picture, as it doesn't quite do it justice.

Thanks guys!

Ya Sota, 12' fences and he was tied up to an old oak tree so it was one of the easier hunts I've been on :)

Gotta love the rut and and a good old grunt call!
I spotted this guy the night prior in an area I haven't sat before. The next morning found me in a brand new stand and this guy came charging in all PO'd about another buck in his territory after a few aggressive grunts interupted his scrape. His head was down and came in straight at me and I didn't think I was going to get a shot, he finally turned at about 7 yards and I stopped him with another grunt. My arrow flew true and he's my biggest whitetail to date and to have taken him with a bow made it that much more special!
The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters.
